A CREATIVE FAIR OF THE ATYRAU REGION WAS HELD IN ASTANA
On September 19–20, the creative fair of the Atyrau region was held at “Qazaq Creative Hub” in Astana as part of the nationwide “Creative Aimaq” project.
The Atyrau Regional Museum of History and Local Lore took part in the event, presenting ethnographic and archaeological artifacts from its museum collection that showcase the rich historical and cultural heritage of the Atyrau region.
The fair was visited by Yevgeniy Kochetov, vice minister of Culture and information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, who viewed the historical and cultural exhibits as well as the creative works displayed at the exhibition.
The exhibition featured various examples of the dombra, one of the most important symbols of Kazakhstan’s traditional musical culture. Among the exhibits were a dombra decorated with bone inlay and silver, the dombra of Asima Izmukhambetova, and the personal dombras of kuishy-composer Azidolla Yeskaliyev and Seyilkhan Kussayinov.
Visitors also had the opportunity to see ceramic vessels and other archaeological artifacts discovered during excavations at the medieval settlement of Sarayshyk. The display included jugs, kumgans, koze, tubek, pottery lids, and fragments of various glazed ceramic wares.
Presenting the historical and cultural heritage of the Atyrau region in the nation’s capital provided an important opportunity to promote national values, showcase the region’s rich cultural heritage to a wider audience, and introduce its unique historical artifacts to the public.
