Presentation of the Photo Album “History of Atyrau: In Photographs of the 19th–20th Centuries”
On September 15, 2025, the Atyrau Regional Museum of History and Local Lore hosted the presentation of the photo album “History of Atyrau: In Photographs of the 19th–20th Centuries.”
With the aim of reaching the wider public and promoting valuable materials of source significance for history, the photo album “History of Atyrau: In Photographs of the 19th–20th Centuries” was presented. It was published in three languages: Kazakh, Russian, and English. Тhe photo album is organized chronologically and includes all photographs preserved in the museum’s collection from the late 19th century to the 1940s. Among them are archival photographs related to the history and culture of the Atyrau region, some of which are published for the first time.
Alongside documents collected in the museum’s holdings, the publication also features photographic materials from the branch of the Archive of the Russian Academy of Sciences in St. Petersburg and from the Russian Archive of Cinema, Photo, and Audio Documents. Most of these have never been published before.
